A Web designer who combines business goals with complex surgery. That’s me.

I’m an experienced Web site designer with a passion for lean HTML and happy clients. I stay focussed on business objectives to deliver high-quality Web design with intensive care.

I specialize in building sites that include a Content Management System (CMS). My clients can update their Web sites at any time.

If you hire me to design (or re-design) your Web site, your pages will shine with clarity and ease-of-use. But that’s not all. The code under the surface—the guts, the glands, the gristle—will be delivered in perfect health.

As defined by the Web Standards Project, Web standards are best-practice coding techniques which have been “carefully designed to deliver the greatest benefits to the greatest number of Web users while ensuring the long-term viability of any document published on the Web. Designing and building with these standards simplifies and lowers the cost of production, while delivering sites that are accessible to more people and more types of Internet devices. Sites developed along these lines will continue to function correctly as traditional desktop browsers evolve, and as new Internet devices come to market.” [Hide]

That’s because I develop to Web Standards, the modern best-practice coding techniques that ensure your site is accessible in all Internet devices, not just your browser. Using Web standards also guarantees your site is as search-engine-friendly as possible.

Background

My studio produces stylish, clean, highly useable Web interfaces. And I’ve never even owned a black polo neck.

When I went freelance as a graphic designer 17 years ago, I designed mostly for print: advertising, logos, brochures, posters—you name it. Since the mid-nineties, however, I’ve specialized in Web design. My old-school design skills are indispensable, but I’m a true specialist: I only design for the Web.

I handle all aspects of Web site design. To get the ball rolling, I take a full brief and help set clear goals for a site. Then, I take care of everything else: domain names, design, navigation systems and information architecture, final error-free coding, even hosting.

I work for clients of all shapes and sizes:

  • Corporations
  • Entrepreneurs
  • Not-For-Profits
  • Local Bodies
  • Mom’n’Pop Stores

I’m a surgeon. I make Web sites well.
